Thousands of Little Kids Rock teachers across 48 states lead a national movement to bring innovative and inclusive music education to students. Using popular music styles like rock, pop, Latin, and rap, our teachers build music programs that are as diverse as the kids they serve. Little Kids Rock provides musical instruments, teacher training, curriculum, and other resources that are key to successful school music programs. More than 550,000 kids currently participate in Little Kids Rock programs nationwide. Since 2002, the organization has reached more than 1,000,000 students.
Tavelli's Little Kids Rock program started in 2012. In addition to Ms. Sparks integrating LKR with her music curriculum, we meet after school one day a week, beginning in October, until our year end performance at the Summer Blast Off. Little Kids Rock after school program is available for up to 40 4th and 5th grade students. Second semester, students who excel in the program are invited to our advanced band, Tiger Stripes, which has additional practice time and performance opportunities over the summer.
Little Kids Rock is led by Ms. Sparks, Mr. Deakin, Ms. Reynolds, and parent volunteers.
